Families Online "[God's] words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." - Deuteronomy 6:6-7

Each week you will find a variety of resources to help support and equip you in the discipleship of your children at home! We hope they are helpful and engaging and will provide you with the building blocks to either get started, or keep going with ministry to your family. These resources are designed to give you a foundation to build upon, not to replace anything you might already be doing. Enjoy the great blessing of helping your children come to know and love the Lord Jesus!

Note: in lieu of our regular programmed ministries for Children and Youth, we are providing material and resources for families to continue this ministry at home and online. Please see our Kids Online page and our Youth Online page for further info.

DISCIPLING YOUR CHILDREN With Tim Beilharz

In this short video interview, Matt asks Tim some questions about how ministry to children has changed as a result of regulations surrounding COVID-19, as well as some advice for parents on navigating this new ministry landscape.

Tim works for the Youthworks Ministry Support team – a group of experienced advisors who partner with local churches to equip, educate and grow ministries to children, youth and families. He also lectures in ‘Family Ministry’ at Youthworks College, Newtown. Enjoy!

If you would like more to do with your family, you can check out the ‘further resources’ below!

WEEKLY CHALLENGE

These challenges are designed to give your family something fun and creative to do together each week. Some weeks, there will be an opportunity to share what you have done with other families for mutual encouragement!

Monday 13th – Sunday 19th April, 2020

It’s very easy for our families to feel the sadness, fear and frustration that come with the COVID-19 pandemic. We need to remind ourselves that our God is a good God who cares greatly for his people!

  • This week, have every member of your family write down one thing they are thankful to God for, each day. Collect them all together in a jar and read them together at the end of the week.

29 Aren’t two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father’s consent. 30 But even the hairs of your head have all been counted.31 So don’t be afraid therefore; you are worth more than many sparrows.

Matthew 10:29-31
